Tulips, Crocus, Daffodils, and Alliums are examples of fall bulbs. These bulbs are planted in the fall and will bloom the following spring. Here are some simple steps that you can follow to get your spring flowerbed started.
Carefully decide on a location. You need to plant your bulbs in an area that is well drained and gets plenty of sunshine.
Prepare the soil. Remove all the weeds, work up the ground and add some compost.
Plant your bulbs. The bulbs need to buried about 3x deeper than they are tall. Make sure you plant the bulb pointy side up. .
Water your freshly planted bulbs.
Cover the bulbs with about 2-3″ of mulch. This will help control the weeds.
